These are the long overdue pictures from our baccalaureate mass. Students from different institutes were patiently waiting in line before taking their seats. These nursing students were so disciplined for keeping their lines straight.

Meanwhile there’s us. Taking pictures while waiting for our seats.

Anyway it was a beautiful day, a day to really thank God for all the blessings that we had in college. The priest talked about us graduating and having different careers. He told us that the secret of most successful people is that when they do things they do it like there is so much more to it. They do it with much passion and much fulfillment.

After the homily my imaginary mother, our school president, MOM Lydia Echauz gave a very inspiring speech. Her speech was very straight to the point and very useful. It was years of wisdom in a nutshell. So here’s what i got from it:

1. Find a job and do not be dependent to your parents. Help support the household.
2. When earning save 10% of your income and use it only when you retire. Live a simple life.
3. Give 10% of your income to the poor or to the church.
4. Take care of your health. You know what they say health is wealth and your body is a temple.

5. Take care of your soul. Stay close to God and you will never go astray.
6. Be faithful not just in name but also in practice.
7. Be a good citizen. Abide in rules. Follow the 10 commandments.

8. Treat people well. Be kind and helpful. Be a blessing to others. Fund a poor child in school.
9. Marry if you’re mature already. When you’re willing to give without asking for anything in return, when you are selfless enough. And if you have kids be sure to love and affirm them, teach them good values.
10. Be worthy. Live by FEU’s values of fortitude, excellence and most especially uprightness.
True that Mom, I believe in everything that you said. I do pray that I can do all that.

(we got photo bombed!! One random nursing student joined us in this picture lol.)
This day was not even enough to express how thankful I am for my college friends, block mates, professors, org mates, my education and the incredible experiences I had in this university. In everything that I’ve done and in everything that I will do, it’s all for God’s glory.
